Knit-a-long & more with the Feast

feast

November Feast is coming!

This months WN Feast will have even more on that usual – you can join in with making mosaics, knitting, taking photos and building a clay map of West Norwood as well as the full array of fantastic handmade dishes and cakes… beer, coffee and handmade goodies all around the Feast Market.

The ‘Stitchees’ have been busy… we have so many squares of knitting to go towards the (possibly giant) blanket for the raffle for the  South London Refugee Association.

Actually rather excited to see how big this will get… and how warm to snuggle up to 🙂

The Stitch got a new sewing machine from Lidl and it’s rather fab!

Carla did a test run and was impressed.

Teresa & Charlotte (of FEAST) have asked if we would join in with the FEAST knitting project and, of course we said yes!

The project is for WNW to knit enough CD sized square to make a quilt which will then be raffled off to raise money for South London Refugee Association.

Charlotte has already started this at FEAST and it was huge success, especially at Tea & Talk!

We had several beginners and some who haven’t knitted in many years, as well as a few seasoned experts who knitted 10 squares to other people’s starting line!

Most people managed a whole square at the end of the Stitch session but a freshly baked cake was up for offer for those who did 🙂

We envisage a huge blanket!!!

November’s FEAST is themed around ‘hands-on art’ and there will be a huge Knit Off too! So put the 6th November in your diary.
